ABOUT ME

My Story

Hi, my name is Chris and welcome to the website. Thanks for choosing to visit and i hope you'll enjoy some of the imagery you find here.

The first time I remember picking up a camera was when I was about 8 years old, I have a memory of my Dad leaping across the room to prise it from my grip.Luckily he then took the time to explain to me what the box was and how it worked, most of which went in one ear and out the other, but he has since told me that I said that cameras and pictures were cool, I then went to play football because at that point I knew I would play for England at some time in the future. Many years later my England career never materialised but thankfully I still think cameras and image making is cool!

The photograph

With Photography you can freeze a moment in time or tell a story through a collection of images, emotions can be relived and experienced or new ways of looking at the normal can be presented. Sometimes moments can be so fleeting so as not to be perceived and they are lost even as they happen. Photography holds that moment and helps the viewer to understand or look beyond that fleeting second. I hope my photography helps people to experience that special second and make them smile before thinking to themselves " I remember ".

I live in Wiltshire which I've always considered to be a bit of a hidden gem of a county. I have a wonderful wife and great kids and so, of course, supply an unofficial taxi company. I love getting up with the dawn and a lot of the time you can find me with my flask sitting somewhere beautiful waiting for the morning to arrive.  So if you live in Wiltshire and see a short, round bald bloke drinking coffee under a tree, there's a good chance it might be me. I'm a big Rugby fan, " come on you Ospreys", I listen to loads of music and have wide-ranging tastes so can sing badly to quite a number of different genres , my singing voice has been described as enthusiatic by people who don't want to hurt my feelings, my kids say they can't hear me due to the blood pouring from their ears !!!.

I like to think I'm a pretty laid back sort of person, quite calm under pressure and feel I get on well with people in just about any situation. Hopefully that comes across at Weddings where just about one of the most pleasing compliments i've had was that people thought i was a member of the family as we all seemed to be getting along so well.  If that's how people percieve me at weddings I'll take that.  I love what i do,  That's the bottom line and why my camera is always with me, its the need to try and capture those fleeting times and moments through my eyes, a scene is a scene but i will see it differently from any one else. If people can gain enjoyment from my vision if I can stir emotions through my imagery and if all concerned can have fun in the process, I've always thought that's not a bad way to make a living.
